Shark Island
Amazing final episode of great television programme on the BBC. Do not realy often rate them but they’ve pulled a gem out here. Basically, six guys go around the world competing in physically and mentally demanding sports of local tribes. This episode saw them canoeing 25 miles around 3 islands in shark infested waters and croc inhabited beaches! Haven’t we supposed to have come along from this, just because we are the “superior” species doesn’t mean we have the right to do this! Spielberg has been around for a couple of decades but do you remember that first classic blockbuster of his about a shark terrorising a small island community? Dean Morrison who was recovering from a hip surgery sunk his fishing boat miles off the coast. Dingo and his friends were forced to swim nearly 5km to a nearby island which was inhabited by deadly snakes, crocs and surrounded by tiger sharks! This stunning video documents the undersea life of the Galapagos Islands — and just when you think it can’t get any better, the whale shark appears .. Music by Hans Zimmer. Costa Rica’s Cocos Island National Park, nicknamed “Shark Island,” has what might be the highest concentration of sharks anywhere. But even here, sharks are vulnerable.
